A Moroccan Treasure

Argan Oil Cold-Pressed Virgin

Argan oil is a product of the kernels of the fruits of the ancient Argan tree (Argania spinosa), a unique tree found only in South West Morocco. Often referred to as liquid gold, it has an extremely high content of Vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol) — double that of olive oil — and other antioxidants which together neutralize harmful free radicals.

The kernels of our Argan oil are lightly toasted — before cold-pressing — to bring out the rich nutty flavour and aroma. It is considered as the best culinary oil by Moroccans and more recently by European connoisseurs. Top European chefs refer to it as a gourmet oil.

A flavorless Argan oil is also available.

Suggested Use:
Drizzle over cooked food, especially grilled fish or chicken and roasted vegetables. Use it in tagines, couscous and salad dressings. Delicious when added to plain
yoghurt with honey.

NOTE:
Heating Argan oil destroys its nutritional properties. Always add to cooked food just before serving.

Argan Oil: Culinary Uses

Argan oil has a rich nutty flavour and is usually used as a finishing touch for cooked food, especially grilled fish or chicken and roasted vegetables. Use it in tagines and couscous.
Delicious on grilled peppers, tomato salad, carrot salad and a fresh corn and grated parsnip salad (alternatively, a dressing made of honey, lemon juice and Argan oil tastes great!). Add it to soups to enhance the flavour. Drizzle over grilled halloumi cheese. Another tasty treat is to add it to yoghurt with honey. Argan oil also features in the preparation of Amlou, a delightful treat to serve guests (a mixture of Argan oil, crushed almonds and honey), and is reputed to have aphrodisiac qualities!

Argan oil will not only improve the flavour of your food but will also help improve your health and help keep you well …… Enjoy!
